B-BBEE Verification
Verification Categories
In terms of the Codes of Good Practice, businesses are categorised according to their annual turnover. The first step in verification is to understand which category your business falls into.
Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME)
Turnover less than R10 million
If your business has a turnover between 0 and R10 million it automatically qualifies as a 100% contributor towards BEE and qualifies as an Exempted Micro Enterprise. Landel Services verifies and issues certificates for all EME entities.
Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE)
Turnover between R10 and R50 million
If your business turns over between R10 million and R50 million per annum then it is measured against a Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE) BEE Scorecard. QSEs are assessed on all five elements but with modified targets.
Generic Enterprise
Turnover above R50 million
Companies with a turnover greater than R50m will be verified on all 5 elements of the NEW CODES of the B-BBEE Scorecard. These entities undergo full verification across Ownership, Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise & Supplier Development, and Socio-Economic Development.
